UAS Bootcamps
New to UAS? With six class start dates per year, individuals can progress from no experience to becoming a Professional Remote Operator in as little as nine weeks.
This intensive full-time program is a hybrid of online courses, instructor-guided lectures, and live flight training. By the end of the program, learners will earn their FAA Remote Pilot Certificate and be designated as a Professional Remote Operator by USI.

Primary PRO® Certifications
What You Will Learn:
- Aeronautics - The essential principles of aviation that UAS operators need to understand, including knowledge of weather, airspace classification, navigation, and flight principles. Operators must also be familiar with the regulations governing UAS operations.
- Systems - The components and systems that comprise a UAS, including the airframe, propulsion, control systems, communication systems, and payloads. It also includes knowledge of how these systems interact and function together.
- UAS Maintenance - The procedures and practices involved in keeping a UAS safe and operational. This includes routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and keeping maintenance records. Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of the UAS.
- Mission Planning - The process of planning a UAS operation, including defining the mission objectives, assessing the operational environment, selecting appropriate equipment, planning the flight path, and establishing contingency plans. It ensures that the mission can be carried out safely and efficiently.
- Ground Operations - The activities and procedures carried out on the ground to ensure the safe and efficient operation of a UAS. This includes pre-flight inspections, setting up and calibrating equipment, managing the launch and recovery of the UAS, and ensuring that all ground support equipment is in proper working order.
- Flight Path Management - This includes understanding how to maintain visual contact with the aircraft, run checklists, manage flight maneuvers, maximize the payload, and handle any immediate issues that arise during the flight.
